Primary Care

Everyone needs to take care of their bodies by eating right, exercising, and seeing their medical provider for regular health visits.  These preventive health visits help to maintain your health and include opportunities to talk with your provider about disease prevention and to treat chronic and acute illness as it occurs.  Along with immunizations, health screenings, medication management, and referrals to other health services, this is Primary Care.

Primary Care is provided by specially trained physicians, family nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who serve as Primary Care Providers or PCPs.  At Family Health Center of Worcester doctor, you will be assigned a PCP that you may visit regularly for all of your preventive health care needs.  Our PCPs work as a team along with nurses, medical assistants, and patient advocates to help you get all the care you need during your visit to Family Health Center.

Your PCP will arrange for you to see a specialist if your medical care requires a consultation or additional treatment. Your PCP will still stay involved with your care and continue to advise you on your health maintenance.  If you are admitted to the hospital, your PCP may see you during your hospital visit.  If you are pregnant, our prenatal team will monitor your care and our PCPs may deliver your baby.

Most of our PCPs and other health providers speak additional languages, and interpreter services are available upon request.
