New Hampshire Cottage, Raquel Derry

Raquel Derry began painting while studying studio art at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, FL. During her studies she was heavily influenced by the art of Richard Schmid. She attended an internship with Robert Lange studios in Charleston, SC, where she met some aspiring artists from whom she still draws inspiration. After completing her degree Raquel attended a Vermont workshop taught by Charlie Hunter, one of the Putney painters. During these experiences she has worked with artists who have helped her grow and develop her own unique style. Raquel now lives in Webster, Massachusetts where she paints rural landscapes of New England cottages and farms as well as figurative studies.
