Boomers, Jack Sikes

Jack Sikes won his first drawing contest at age 6.  He got his start at a one-room schoolhouse in Girdwood, Alaska and later attended American River Junior College in Sacramento, CA.  Jack served in the U.S. Merchant Marines before studying painting at the Worcester Art Museum while working as a barber.  Under the tutelage of Leon Hovesepian, he mastered the techniques of oils, watercolors, and acrylics.

He now lives and paints in Holden, Mass.  His work has been shown at Arts Worcester, Worcester City Hall, and the Fitchburg Art Museum, where he won First Prize at the 73rd Annual Regional Artists Exhibition.
