Family Health Center of Worcester offers a rigorous training program for students who are interested in becoming skilled psychotherapists. Interns manage their own caseloads, complete biopsychosocial assessments of clients, collaboratively develop treatment plans, and conduct weekly therapy sessions. Interns learn about how to conduct treatment within the framework of managed care. They communicate with primary care physicians and psychiatrists in order to coordinate their clients' care. All interns have the opportunity to attend weekly individual and group supervision as well as a bi-weekly clinical seminar led by Clinical Director Craig Wiener, Ed.D.
There are currently 7 Social Work Interns from 5 graduate schools training at Family Health Center. Potential candidates for an internship should contact the Manager of the Intership Program, Karin Shelton, at (508) 860-7930.
